Description of the tool

With the Comments tool, the content providers and editors can collect a selection of terminologies, code lists or data vocabularies for comments. Users from different organisations can comment the selected information content and read the comments others have given with the help of this tool.

The address of the tool: https://kommentit.suomi.fi/

Purpose of the tool

The Comments tool is intended for:

  • persons responsible for information content (terminologies, data vocabularies, reference data) who want feedback collected on the content (eg. reference data set) they are working with.
  • users from different organisations who want to comment the information content in commenting rounds.

The Comments tool is used for:

  • creating commenting rounds: a master user can for example ask feedback from a new concept to be added in a terminology.
  • giving comments to different information contents that a master user has opened for commenting. An user can also comment the status of the contents (e.g. if a draft version of a content is mature enough to promoted as valid) or suggest new contents.
  • commenting other users' comments and discussing the content with other users participating to the commenting round.
  • the given comments in the Comments Tool can also be loaded to an Excel file for further analysis of the content.

The intended benefits of the tool

  • the contents of the commented information content can easily be retrieved from the tool once the comments have been given.
  • in the current version, commenting requires logging in, so all the persons giving feedback are known. In the future, also anonymous commenting may be an option.
  • it is easy to discuss about the specific contents with other users.
  • all stakeholders can follow development of information contents, for example development of a specific terminology, through the possibility to read and give comments in the opened commenting rounds.
