The Reference Data tool is a national collaborative tool for publishing and maintaining code sets. Code set information can be browsed and inspected, and the necessary code sets downloaded. Code sets are also further utilized in the Data Vocabularies Tool as attributes for value sets. Code sets or the meaning of the code can be linked to a concept in the Terminology Tool.
The Reference Data Tool can be used to publish and maintain code sets and their metadata. It enables you to
- produce hierarchical code sets,
- create code set extensions,
- mark code sets with variants and
- produce versions of code sets.
Published code lists can be versioned and linked to other code lists. The metadata for the code lists is also extendable, which makes it possible to publish different types of domain specific attributes and hierarchies.
